Azalea season

Colin and I took a trip to the Arboretum last weekend to take in the pretty azaleas, which are in full bloom right now. We were having a crazy warm day (mid 80s, although by Wednesday it was back down to 50s/60s), the sun was shining, and the flowers were just gorgeous. Lots of people, but not too many big groups, so it was still reasonably easy to navigate. Here are a few I took.

These BRIGHT pink ones with the sprinkling of fuchsia are my favorites.

Cake and friends

This is my friend Will with a cake that my mom and I made. Ruby came to visit in February and we busted out my icing tips to practice (round 1!) for the wedding cake. We had Hannah and Will over to help eat the cake and also because it was the ONLY night in the space of a month that all four of us (Colin, me, Hannah, and Will) were free to get together. Anyway, great night, delicious cake, and now here's a picture:

Things I'm excited about

The neopolitan pizza and craft beer place opening a block and a half from my house. SO EXCITED.

Did I mention I'm excited? Did I say it loud enough? What's that, you didn't quite hear me? Neopolitan pizza. Fancy beers. EXCITEMENT. All of the money, it is leaving my wallet.
