Sometimes I suck at typing. At times I do legitimately wonder if I might be slightly dyslexic, but more often than not I'm just trying to type too fast. Also, my hands are small, but when in front of a keyboard I suddenly develop sausage fingers and hit extra keys all. the. time. I frequently sign my name wrong when signing an email. Here are the most common typos:

• Ubez
• Inex
• Ienz

Happens all the damn time.

Christmas bonus

One of the perks of working where I work is that we get a Christmas bonus. I completely forgot we get Christmas bonuses and so I was really excited to get the check last week.

That is, until HR realized that they had fucked up and failed to deduct my transportation benefits contribution from my paycheck for the past 6 months. Goodbye, Christmas bonus. It was nice knowing you. I would have loved to be able to send to El Salvador to help pay for the medical costs of the Directora of Comadres.

stuff to look at later

I have a folder on my bookmark tab called "stuff to look at later." If someone sends me an article that looks interesting but longer than I have time for at that moment, or if I find a site I want to remember to go back to, or whatever, I dump it in there. I try to go through it every so often and clear out the articles I read or websites I'm no longer interested in, but it's been a while and the folder is getting pretty full. Here is a look at some of the stuff I've found on the internet that I wanted to look at later:

• Learn to Love Your Cast Iron Skillet - a post by Joy the Baker. I leave this one in my "look at later" folder so that I remember to give my cast iron some TLC.
• Retro brake levers for small hands - I was thinking about making the brake levers on my Motobecane fit my hands better before I switched out the handlebars (and put on a new type of brake).
• La Vida Loca - a super fucked up look into the lives of Salvadoran gang members. Put on hold until I'm mentally prepared/not at work to watch it.
• How to make a tiny terrarium in a light bulb - tell me this isn't cool. Tell me. You're lying, I can tell you're lying. It's awesome.
• Tabletop letter press - this made it into the folder when I was going through a period of wanting to take up bookbinding again in my spare time.
• Wikipedia entry on gantt charts - I'm pretty sure this was a result of an XKCD
• 3hive.com - I don't remember. I guess I should look at it later.
